The sleeping beauty
Directed by Andrey Sharaev and based in the Czech Republic, the company offers versions of the great classics with the spectacular scenography of Eugeny Gurenko and magnificent international soloists. This time the company performs Tchaikovsky's masterpiece: The Sleeping Beauty, based on Charles Perrault's fairy tale La belle au bois dormant, first performed as a ballet in St. Petersburg in 1890.
A new production by Tatiana Solovievaa directed by Andrey Sharaev in collaboration with the Royal Czech Ballet and the Balletto di Milano.
Synopsis
The wicked witch predicts that the Princess will prick herself and cause her death but Fairy Lila exchanges this curse for a sleep that will last a hundred years. One hundred years later, Princess Aurora wakes up with the kiss of Prince Desiré and defeats the curse. At the wedding, accompanied by the King and Queen, we will see Charles Perrault's most famous characters parade: Cinderella, the Prince, Puss in Boots and the Puss, Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf, the Blue Bird and Princess Florina, Tom Thumb, and the main characters dance their famous Pax de deux.
Andrey Scharaev, director
Graduated as a choreographer and teacher at the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts in Chisinau (Moldova), he was a soloist with the National Ballet of Moldova for ten years and worked with numerous companies such as the Columbia Classical Ballet, the Philadelphia International Ballet, the Imperial Russian Ballet, the St. Petersburg Ballet and the Moravian Ballet (Czech Republic). He has also toured Europe, the United States and Canada.
Mariana Rusu, choreographer
She was principal soloist of the National Ballet of Moldova, St. Petersburg Ballet and is a teacher at the Ballet School of Chisinau (Moldova).
