Francesco Vantaggio

He began his classical dance studies at the Centrostudi Artedanza in Pescara, directed by Rossana Raducci. At the age of 11 he continued his studies at the Accademia Nazionale di Danza in Rome. At the age of 14 he entered the Ballet School of the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome directed by Elisabetta Terabust. After graduating, he auditioned for the Ballet Company of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, under the direction of Amedeo Amodio and began his career as a professional dancer.

In 1998, moved by curiosity to discover the world of ballet abroad, he went to France and joined the Opéra National de Paris, thus becoming part of the prestigious company. Since then, he has participated in all productions of the classical and contemporary repertoire, working with the most famous choreographers of our century such as Pina Bausch, William Forsythe, Jiri Kylian, Roland Petit, Maurice Bejart and Carolyn Carlson.

Among the awards he has received in Italy,  we highlight the Premio Città di Roma for Dance and the Premio Positano Leonide Massine. Parallel to his career as a dancer, teaching and the desire to transmit have occupied more and more space in his day to day, leading him to obtain the State Diploma of Ballet Teaching, issued by the ‘Opera de Paris and follow the refresher courses of the various styles and methods of ballet in the world.

He is currently a teacher at the ballet school of the Opera of Rome and is a guest in various national and international companies. He also collaborates regularly as ballet master at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, the Teatro San Carlo di Napoli and with the Italian Opera of Paris.
