Lienz Chang
Professor Summer Intensive

He started at the age of 10 at the School of Art in the Province of Matanzas. When he was 15 years he joined the National School of Art in the City of Havana and to with 18 years, in 1986, he joined the dance body of the National Ballet of Cuba. During 7 years he was partenaire of the Absolute dancer Alicia Alonso which turned out to be a unique experience and a great responsibility. This is how he learned the artistic and technical development of this art.
He has been in Europe developing an international career that has allowed him to nurture other influences in dance for years. After his work as a partenaire of Alicia Alonso, he had the great opportunity, thanks to a great friend of him, Michel Martín, to work with the great choreographer Roland Petit at the National Ballet of Marseille being currently Etoile (Star) and his Choreographic Assistant. He is currently Maître de Ballet at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
He has participated as a teacher and assistant in choreographies such as Balanchine’s The Prodigal Son, MacMillan’s Romeo and Juliet and Manon, Cranko’s Oneguin, Forsythe’s Hermán Schmerman, Nureyev’s Swan Lake version, Roland Petit’s Pink Floyd Ballet, among others.
