Miquel G. Font
Resident coreographer 2020-2021

He was born in Barcelona and studied at the Institut del Teatre and the Rudra Béjart in Lausanne. Miquel danced in many companies like the Béjart Ballet Lausanne, the Dominic Walsh Dance Theatre, the Houston Ballet, the Lanònima Imperial or the Tanzcompangnie Oldenburg, working with choreographers like J. Killiàn, M Béjart, O. Naharin, S. Cellis , S. Eyal, A. van de Broek and Guy & Roni, among others.
Since 2010, as general director of Habemus Corpus, he has directed international co-productions with other theatres like Stadttheater Klagenfurt (AT), Staatstheater Oldenburg (DE), Internationale Tanz-Theatre Hannover (DE), Tanzzentrale der Region Nürnberg (DE) o Festival Grec Barcelona (ES). He has been awarded with several international choreography awards like the Stuttgart Solo-Tanz-Theater 2015 (DE), or the Jerusalem Dance Week (Israel) among others. He has been invited as a choreographer by companies like the Miami City Ballet (USA, 2015), Jeune Ballet d’Aquitaine (FR, 2018) or Scapino Ballet Rotterdam (NL, 2018) and in co-productions in big theatres like Mercat de les Flors (July 2017) or Theaterhaus Stuttgart (April 2016).
He has experience as a ballet master in big schools like Institut del Teatre of Barcelona, teaching creation and choreography. He was also invited by companies like Scapino Ballet Rotterdam (NL), Staatstheater Ösnabruck (DE) o De Stilte (NL) and European conservatories like Codarts Rotterdam (NL), Royal Ballet School Antwerp (BE) or Jeune Ballet d’Aquitaine (FR) for master classes, creative workshops or regular training sessions. At an international level, he developed his own creation methods: the Witness method, used in professional performances, workshops in festivals or companies; and the Exodus method, which is used for a fast creation of stage organizations where body and mind fight each other, more focused on intensive workshops, auditions or physical experiments. All these branches and methods have been applied to different situations. Creations with companies like the Scapino Ballet Rotterdam or Habemus Corpus, conservatories like Codarts (NL), Institut del Teatre (BCN), Studio Adage (FR) or Alienor Ballet (FR), and festivals like the Tanztheater International Hannover (DE) Festival Mes de Danza Sevilla (ES) or the Open Look Festival of Saint Petersburg (RU).
